The Firesticks Pencil Cactus (Euphorbia tirucalli) is a striking succulent known for its slender, cylindrical branches that glow in shades of orange, red, and yellow — especially in bright light. A true statement plant, it brings bold color and architectural drama to any sunny space.
Care Guide
- Light: Thrives in bright, direct sunlight. The more light it receives, the more vibrant the fiery color becomes.
- Water: Water sparingly — allow soil to dry out completely between waterings. Drought-tolerant and highly susceptible to overwatering.
- Soil: Well-draining cactus or succulent mix is ideal.
- Temperature: Prefers warm conditions. Keep above 50°F and protect from frost.
- Toxicity: Important — the milky sap of the Firesticks is toxic and a skin/eye irritant. Handle with gloves and keep away from children and pets.
Why You'll Love It
- Stunning fiery color that intensifies in bright light
- Low maintenance and drought-tolerant
- Fast-growing with a dramatic, sculptural form
- Perfect for sunny windowsills, patios, or as a bold focal point
Plants are shipped from an indoor greenhouse in South Florida. Each plant is unique — yours may have slightly more or less growth than pictured depending on availability at the time your order is placed.
