Calathea's are one of our most loved plants, they are known as Prayer Plants and are a bit temperamental needing the right mixture of humidity and indirect lighting. They are also great as they are pet safe and non-toxic.
Rattlesnake Plant Calathea Lancifolia also known as Goeppertia insignis is native to the Brazilian rainforests. Rattlesnake plant is an evergreen herbaceous perennial that has distinctive patterns of leaves in the light and dark-green shades, ruffled at the edges with a purple underside. Calathea lancifolia is part of the Marantaceae family and like other prayer plants, the leaves fold at nighttime and open up in the day symbolizing a new-onset. This tropical plant is very easy to care for and will flourish in suitable conditions. Being native to the rainforests the Rattlesnake plant requires regular watering and ample amount of humidity. The soil should be moist but not waterlogged. We also allow it to dry out for the top 2 inches before watering. This plant grows best in temperatures that range from 65°-75°F.
